At Our Lady of Lourdes, we want staff and pupils to enjoy the sun safely. We will work with staff, pupils and parents to achieve this by:

• Reminding families to apply sunscreen

• Asking families to provide a named sunhat and waterbottle in sunny weather

• Reminding children to drink regularly, especially on hot days

• Encouraging children to use the shaded areas in sunny weather before and during playtimes

• Asking families to apply a high factor sunscreen to their child before school to ensure they are protected throughout the day

• Recommending the use of 8 hour sunscreen, where possible, to provide high protection without the need to reapply
